Directions:
In Towners – Old Spanish Trail about 6 miles past
Rincon Store, right on Pistol Hill Road to start line.
Out-of-Towners – I-10 east to exit 279 (Vail/Wentworth) North 6.5 miles to start line. Check out the map.
Course Report:
This is a beautiful ride on Tucson's east end. A 9-mile circuit of rollers, climbs and downhills. Clockwise from top of Pistol Hill Road. There is about 300' of climbing per lap.

Combined categories scored separately.
Separate prizes for Jr.17-18 men/women.
Helmets mandatory.
Centerline rule in effect and enforced.

Races go on in any weather condition.
All racers per field finish on leaders lap.
Feed Zone located on Old Spanish Trail 200m. West of Pistol Hill Road.
Parking only on the East side of Pistol Hill Rd. Awards following the end of each wave.

Racers must race with their own category; you are not allowed to ride with other categories you may encounter on the course.
Sheriff or USAC Officials will monitor the road race course on motorcycles
Stay to the right of the centerline and obey their requests and warnings.
Hassling officers for any reason could result in Disqualification.
Watch for corner guards and get acquainted with the course before race days.
The courses on race days will open to vehicular traffic, so be careful.
Riders must complete/finish stage in order to start next stage.
Each group will have a follow vehicle for wheels. Once the vehicle is full of wheel no more will be accepted. It will be neutral support.
Distance form Hotels to start of COLOSSAL CAVE ROAD RACE is 21.6 miles or about 30 minutes.
ALL cyclist driving to the start of the Colossal Cave THIRD Stage - Road Race - coming from Tucson are to turn RIGHT on Camino Loma Alta (traveling opposite the race goes) to Colossal Cave Road then make a LEFT heading East. THERE WILL NOT CARS ALLOWED ON PISTOL HILLS from Old Spanish Trail. This is for safety and less congestion.
Those coming from the motel or I-10 will use Exit 279 (Vail/Wentworth) North/East 6.5 miles on Colossal Cave Road.
Teammates or Feed Zone personal will be allow to travel on Old Spanish Trail to Pistol Hill Road or from the parking area Via Pistol Hill Road. (through the start/finish area).
